As a medium, I find that clay allows for considerable freedom in the expression of an idea or image. It is also demanding in terms of its' own physical parameters. I find myself coming back to clay; whether as part of a mixed media project, or unto itself.
In 1998 I took a Raku workshop from John MacGregor and became very excited with the Raku process. During the summer of 2000, I managed to find time to build a raku kiln and assemble the necessary ‘stuff’ to begin a Raku Journey. Raku seems to insist on a balance between some successes and the personal growth that comes out of favorite pieces that destruct.
