The term Terrazzo refers to a mixture of cement and stone chips that is commonly used as a flooring surface. In this case, the mix is white portland cement, play sand, chopped fibre glass and an acrylic polymer. Two of the sculptures (Dicot and Divergence) were hand formed over a steel armature (like a small cage). The other two were cast in a rubber mold that I took off the original maquette.
